Report Pollution

In Baltimore

  • In Baltimore Call 311 or use this link to the city and click on 311 Services button.
  • In Baltimore County, call 410-887-7415 for sewer emergencies and 410-887-4488 for other stream issues.  

If this is an emergency or the above numbers don’t work.

Call  Maryland Department of the Environment or (866) 633-4686.

These would be:

  • sewer overflows
  • stream looks like paint or other chemicals have been dumped
  • fish kills
  • any smells of gas or flammable substances

When reporting a Sewer Overflow,

  • remember to send your Service Request number to HRWA
  • give them detailed directions and location
  • if you can, meet them in the field to show them or have HRWA meet them
  • report the overflow to HRWA
  • report the overflow to the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Report Water Main Breaks through 311 in Baltimore City and in the County use 410-396-5352.

To report Street Tree problems (pruning, removal or stump removal) call 311 or call the Forestry Department 410-396-6110.

To Report Illegal Dumping, call 410-396-4717.
